Raisin' My Donut

Well actually that did not happen. What did happen was, my donut found a trapped lizard in an empty confectionery box with a see-through plastic on the lid. She does have a distinct dislike on lizard plus that it makes her skin crawls. Anyway, my donut got creative and get herself cellophane tapes to stick the sides of the box with enough breath-holes for the lizard. Despite the cruelness, at least she still empathise the poor creature.

In total, my donut trapped the poor lizard for 5 whole days, after being tortured. In the first few days the my donut would just drummed the box with a stick to make the lizard deaf she would say. The lizards' response was just to shift position to another corner without the banging. Soon enough, my donut grew tired of drumming the box and decide she would shake the box as well as possibly could. After 2 days we noticed that the lizard has changed a shade darker than its original colour. Well, that brought smile to my donuts face... she was amazed.

On the third day, she noticed that the tail has disengaged from the lizard's main body; though it was still tingling a good 20minutes. However, her greatest finding was that, without food for the last 4 days, the poor lizard has not grown thin but instead the lizard has devoured its own tail for survival.... that was truly gross but nevertheless, I too was amazed at the findings. Never would have I imagined lizards can turned cannibalistic... wonder whats the term to refer for animals or reptiles doing that, ew.

My donut, was wide-eyed with wonder and thought it would be good to see if it would disengage any other parts of its body and eventually die a handicapped. This was when I have to put my foot down and say, enough is enough! So I explained to my little donut that lizards are known to disengage their tails when they are extremely scared or tries to get away from its predators, as a mean to distract the predators. But the tails will eventually grow back and the lizards will be back to normal again.

It was a wonder that I could let my donut decide that the torture chamber is enough and that we should let loose the poor lizard...
